The Parts of a Vape Kit

The Parts of a Vape Kit

In recent years, vaping has become an increasingly common sight. We’ve seen many smokers turning into vapers. Whether vaping is a healthier and better alternative is still up for debate. However, one thing’s for certain. If you’re looking to get into vaping or are trying to quit smoking, you probably know little about vape kits.

In this article, we’ll provide you with a guide to everything you need to know about typical vape kits.

The Anatomy

You don’t have to know all the parts that make a vaping kit. But it’s best if you knew about the basic anatomy before you purchase your first one.

Tanks

As you’d expect, the tank is the part of a vape where the e-juice is loaded and vaped from. Although the explanation here is pretty basic, there’s a whole lot to the tank of a vape kit. It consists of three different parts.

Drip Tip

This is the part of the vape that comes into contact with your lips. Typically, these are made out of heat-resistant metal or plastic, ensuring that you don’t burn your lips while vaping. In other instances, they’re made out of wood, which also effectively blocks out the heat. Drip tips are easy to remove and are fully exchangeable for personalization and customization of your vape kit. Drip tips with large openings allow for larger draws, so it all boils down to your personal preference.

Tank Chamber

This is the part of the tank the e-liquid is poured into. In the main, the tanks are built out of titanium, glass, or stainless steel. Some tanks are top-fill, while others feature bottom access. Top-fill tanks are easier to fit, seeing as how they don’t have to be removed from the mod for refills. Tanks also feature a ring near the base that controls the flow.

Atomizer (Coil)

If you’ve never heard about atomizers, you’ve heard of coils. The atomizer/coil is the part of the vape that causes the actual vaporization. Each atomizer consists of a coil that’s wrapped around cotton. This part of a vape kit is disposable – it needs replacing every few weeks. Atomizer calibration is measured in OHMS. The lower the number of OHMS a coil has, the more power it requires to heat the coil. This results in a larger production of vapour.

Mods/Batteries

The remaining part of a vape kit is the mod. Mods or batteries are there for providing the power to the vape kit atomizer and tank. These parts also control the temperature and the wattage of vaping. As a rule of thumb, batteries are used in vape pens, while mods are square-shaped objects used in other types of vape kits.

Understanding Vape Kits

We haven’t explained exactly how vapes work, but this should get you started with vape kits in general. Each vape kit consists of a mod and a tank, which further consists of three different parts. Each part serves a purpose and plays a key role in giving you a great vaping experience.
