WHO: the threat of the coronavirus pandemic has become very real

The pandemic threat of the new coronavirus is becoming real. This was specified by the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adan Gebreisus.

At the same time, the WHO noted that this will be the first pandemic in history that can be controlled.

“Now that the coronavirus has settled in many countries, the threat of a pandemic has become very real. But it will be the first pandemic in history to be controlled. The bottom line is: we are not at the mercy of this virus,” he said.

He also added that over the weekend, the number of reported cases of COVID19 has exceeded 100,000 in 100 countries.

“It’s certainly alarming that so many people and countries have suffered so quickly,” he added.

We will remind, earlier it was reported that in Ukraine one case of infection with coronavirus has already been recorded – a resident of Chernovtsy who recently returned from Italy turned out to be infected. In addition, coronavirus was recorded in all 7 countries with which Ukraine borders.

Also today, a case of infection was recorded in Cyprus. This is the last EU country where there have been no cases of COVID19. Thus, coronavirus is currently fixed in all EU countries.

Note, according to Chinese experts, coronavirus will continue to spread around the world until at least June.
